Seeking Roommates for Fairfax House

My name is Fabian Salinas and I am going into my fourth year as a math Phd candidate at Vanderbilt. My wife Snow, my younger brother Angel, and myself will be living on the bottom floor of the house, with our cats Kilala and Idina (my wife and I have... lived here since I started at Vandy). My younger brother Angel is a shy and kind highschooler (going into his sophomore year) and he loves to play acoustic guitar. My wife works at Ulta at a nearby mall, is a very good cook, and streams on Twitch (we have been together for over 10 years).

We have 2 upstairs bedrooms available starting at the beginning of July 2025, each going for a monthly rent of $600. The utilities (Gas, Internet, Water, and Electricity) are split head-wise among the residents of the household. I pay the bills upfront and my wife emails everyone copies of the billing statements and updates our Google spreadsheet so that everyone knows how much they owe (typically, a single person would expect to pay between $70 and $150 for their share of the bills depending on total people in the house and time of year). Our place is an 18 minute walk to campus, and a 15 minute walk to Krogers (the local grocery store). We have the standard washer/dryer, fridge, stove, and dishwasher (and a tuned upright piano downstairs for anyone to use). The upstairs bedrooms and common area come equipped with window a/c units, space heaters, a microwave, and two mini-fridges. We have central heat and air, but whoever designed the ductwork decided it would be a good idea to not have vents upstairs (except the upstairs bathroom, which does have a vent for heat). The upstairs rooms and common area are not furnished. Depending on availability and interest, we may consider renting the entire upstairs for $1200. The lease agreement is for 12 months, with a 1 month's security deposit towards damages, clean up, and/or penalty for breaking the 12 month agreement.

Our house, which we refer to as the "Fairfax house", has had many generations of Vanderbilt graduate students (mostly math, but we don't judge) that have lived here. The owner of the house lives next door, and since we have lived here, he has been a very reasonable, pleasant person to work with. My hope is that the Fairfax house continues its tradition even after I finish my degree.

If you are interested (want to set up a virtual/in-person tour or have questions), please feel free to email/text me as soon as possible at my listed number or email.
